A special issue on web information fusion

‘‘When you use information from one source, it’s plagiarism; When you use information from many, it’s information fusion” This special issue is the thirteenth in our ongoing series of special issues (and sections) devoted to specific topics of interest to the information fusion community. This special issue, which was first conceived quite a while back, is an offering that explores the role of information fusion in the context of the World Wide Web and associated developments. In accordance with the tradition of special issues, the issue starts off with the guest editorial, which introduces the issue, delineates its scope and describes briefly its contents. The guest editorial is followed by an overview of the state of the art in this rapidly evolving field. This is followed by the six papers selected for the special issue after a long drawn out review process that included multiple revisions of some of the presentations. The issue, as has been customary, closes with another offering of ‘Finding FUN in FUsioN’ column.
