We are seeking articles that are creative, informative and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of a subject of interest to our readers. Rules: 1. Articles may be summaries of original research, reviews, clinical case studies, or commentary. 2. Articles must be the original work of the author(s), and must be the first peer-reviewed publication of the author(s). 3. Articles must adhere to the current submission guidelines as outlined in Information for Authors published in each issue of the Journal. 4. Articles submitted for the award must be postmarked between October 1, 1997, and May 1, 1998, and must be designated by authors as contest entries. 5. Submissions will be reviewed and scored by members of the Journal's Editorial Board according to criteria outlined below. 6. Winner will be notified by June 1998 and will be announced in October 1998 issue of the Journal. 7. Winning article will be published in a future issue of the Journal. 8. Members of the Journal's Editorial Board, members of the APIC Board of Directors, and employees of the publisher (Mosby) or APIC are not eligible. 9. If a coauthored article is selected, the award will be shared between authors as they choose.
