AkzoNobel’s Interpon powder coatings display superior durability after decades of use AkzoNobel’s Interpon D2000 powder coatings, which were applied on window frames and curtain walls of the Patient Tower of Mission Hospital, CA, USA, have been tested to measure the products’ colour change and gloss levels. The coatings were applied in 1991. After more than two decades of exposure to sunny weather, overall colour change is still only 3.18, well below the 5.0 project guarantee and American Architectural Manufacturers Association’s (AAMA) 2604-10 limit. The coatings also retained 59.4% of their gloss levels, where the 15year guarantee promised greater than 50%, and AAMA2604-10 requires greater than 30%. Original Source: AkzoNobel, 2012.
