tlas Copco Power and Flow has entered into a new partnership with the UK’s Pump & Plant Services Ltd, which specialises in hiring and selling industrial pumps, diesel generators and lighting towers. Under the partnership, Pump & Plant Services will be supplying and supporting Atlas Copco’s WEDA, PAS and VAR ranges. Armstrong signs Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment

anada’s Armstrong Fluid Technology has signed the Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment, launched by the World Green Building Council. Signatories to the Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment pledge to reach net zero carbon operating emissions within their portfolios by 2030. To meet this commitment, Armstrong will implement energy efficiency measures to lower electricity and fossil fuel consumption; generate renewable energy on-site; and procure renewable generated electricity and carbon offsets. “For the past 20 years we have been perfecting the efficiency of our portfolio and dismantling the economic barriers around efficiency and reduced GHG emissions,” said Charles Armstrong, chairman and CEO of Armstrong Fluid Technology. “Reaching Net Zero and assisting our customers in meeting their own sustainability objectives is our primary work. The synergy between this Net Zero commitment and our own 2 by 22 initiative to reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 2 million tons by the year 2022 made it an easy decision to become one of the more than 50 distinguished signatories allied to combatting the climate crisis.”
ewa has inaugurated a specially developed container test bench in Leonberg, Germany which will be used for experiments with hot or explosive fluids. Until now, the pump manufacturer has mostly used water as the conveying liquid for testing and verifying pump functions on its test benches. The new container test bench is divided into two areas. In addition to an explosion protection Zone 1 experimental area, where the test experiments take place, it also includes a safe control room without explosion hazard for housing the drive and control equipment. Supercritical fluids such as gasoline, methanol, acetone or nitrocellulose thinner are used in the test chamber, which can be viewed through gas-tight glass panes, at process temperatures of up to 80°C and a maximum quantity of 200 l. Hot experiments with rapeseed oil, glycerin or Fragoltherm can reach 200°C.
lfa Laval has raised €300 million in the corporate bond market, under an existing euro medium term note (EMTN) program. The bonds will be listed on the Irish Stock Exchange. Alfa Laval has issued five-year bonds with a principal amount of €300 million, with maturity on 25 June 2024. The bonds carry a coupon of 0.250% annually. The proceeds will be used to refinance a €300 million bond, maturing in September 2019.
