die-castings and is often used on aluminium when maximum corrosion resistance is required. The company has invested in a wide range of equipment and processes including Vibratory Trough Finishing and Shot Blasting to perform preliminary operations and generate the key face to which the surface coatings will bond. In addition to the existing Alocrom1200 and SurTec 650 coating processes, Altec has also installed the equipment needed for zinc and manganese phosphate coating. Altec’s offering on specialist coatings will be further enhanced in future with the Xylan and Hard Anodizing processes. As an environmentally friendly alternative to Alocrom 1200, Altec also offers SurTec 650 that delivers excellent corrosion resistance and low electrical resistance. This non-toxic process provides excellent bare corrosion protection with or without paint, works extremely well on alloyed, cast and extruded aluminum and is suitable as pre-treatment prior to lacquering or powder coating.
