Amarinth expands Ex-Wilden chief forms pump holding company in India John D Allen, the former president of Wilden Pump and of Dover Corp’s Pump Solutions Group, has set up JDA Global LLC, a new pump holding company that will create start-up pump companies and acquire small- to medium-sized pump manufacturers. Redlands, California-based JDA Global will also serve as a “chief globalisation officer” and consultant linking US distributors with Asian pump manufacturers and low cost country raw material suppliers with US pump companies. Allen recently signed a strategic alliance and joint venture partner in India, and is currently establishing a wholly-owned foreign enterprise in China. JDA Global has appointed two pump industry veterans to key
roles. Tom Brown, most recently director of Global Sourcing for Dover, will serve as president and partner of JDA Global, overseeing the Redlands facility as well as the Chinese and Indian operations. Sam Featherston is acting managing director of JDA Global’s wholly-owned foreign enterprise in Shanghai, China and will assume full managing director status once the Chinese business entity is official. He has spent 16 years in China and was most recently director of procurement for Dover’s Pump Solutions Group.
Amarinth has signed Padmasri Engineers as its agent in India and secured a US$300 000 contract from Larsen & Toubro.
ClydeUnion Pumps has acquired offshore drilling pump company S&N Pump Co.
S&N Pump has operations in the UK, Africa, Singapore and the Middle East.
JDA Global’s initial pump range will include diaphragm pumps and parts, to be followed by a flexible impeller pump line. Product roll-out is scheduled for 1 January 2011.

Pulsafeeder builds peristaltic pump business IDEX Corp’s Pulsafeeder has acquired PeriFlo Inc, a manufacturer of peristaltic pumps for the industrial and municipal water and wastewater markets.
US$3.5 million. Pulsafeeder says that the PeriFlo acquisition will serve as a cornerstone for expansion into the peristaltic pump market.

Sundyne gains full control of Japanese JV Sundyne Corp and Nikkiso Co Ltd have reached an agreement that gives Sundyne 100% ownership of the Sundyne Nikkiso joint venture in Tokyo, Japan. The former Sundyne Nikkiso joint venture will now be known as Sundyne Japan. Nikkiso will continue to represent Sundyne in Japan and manufacture Sundyne

National Hire to acquire Sykes National Hire Group Ltd has entered into an agreement to acquire Sykes Group Pty Ltd, the Australian manufacturer and distributor of auto prime pumps for the mining, construction and civil engineering sectors, in a A$50 million deal.

A major player in Australia’s pump market for more than 40 years, Sykes specialises in standard and custom built pumping equipment for large scale mining and industrial applications and is one of the
