1992 PRESIDENT
Dr. Axe1 Ruprecht, professor and director of oral and maxillofacial radiology in the Department of Oral Pathology, Radiology and Medicine, College of Dentistry and Professor of Radiology in the Department of Radiology, College of Medicine, University of Iowa, was elected to the office of president of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial R.adiology, a position th.at he will assume on Jan. 1, 1992. He has served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Board for the past 3 years. Dr. Ruprecht received his DDS degree at the University of Toronlo in 1968,. and his MScD (Oral Radiology) degree, also from Toronto, in 1972. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiobogy, a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. Dr. Ruprecht has been certified in Oral Radiology in the provinces of Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Ontario, Canada. He is al member of numerous radiology organizations, and a past president of the Canadian Academy of Oral Radiology (CAOR). Dr. Ruprecht has held teaching positions at several universities in Canada, Saudi Arabia, and Germany, as well as visiting professorships in Canada, Saudi Arabia, Japan, IEgypt, and the USA. Currently he is on the editorial board of the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology sectilon of ORAL SURGERY ORAL MEDICINE ORAL PATHOLOGY, and on the advisory board of the Saudi Dental Journal. He has served on committees to develop curricular guidelines for oral and maxillofacial radiology for the American Association of Dental Schools and for the International Association of Dento-Maxillo-Facial Radiology. chairman of the CAOR committee that achieved specialty recognition for oral radiology from the Canadian Dental Association in 1973. He is the current chair of a similar committee for the AAOMR.
