New editor of the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Section named
Sharon L. Brooks, DDS, MS, became the new editor of the section of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology in January 1996. Dr. Brooks received her dental degree from the University of Michigan and three Master of Science degrees from the same institution, one in oral diagnosis-radiology, one in radiologic health, and one in clinical research design and statistical analysis. She has been teaching full time at the University of Michigan since 1973 and has achieved the rank of professor. She is also Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Michigan School of Medicine. She is a diplomate of both the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and the American Board of Oral Medicine and has served as a director and secretary of the latter board for the past five years. She has been active in many professional associations, holding elected offices in the American Acade m y of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, Organization of Teachers of Oral Diagnosis (past president), and American Association of Dental Schools. She has also served on two different National Board Test Construction Committees and the Council on Dental Materials, Instruments, and Equipment for the American Dental Association. Dr. Brooks has been actively involved in research during her entire professional career and has pub-

lished over 30 articles in the dental literature, many in this JOURNAL. She has been on the editorial board of two different sections of this JOURNALfor over 10 years.
