American Board of O rthodontics announces cowLpletion of 1978 written examination and forthco,ming examinations for Board candidates and aspiting candidates The latest written examination (Phase II) of the American Board of Orthodontics was held on Saturday, Oct. 7, 1978, at Philadelphia, St. Louis, and San Mateo (a suburb of San Francisco), with 200 candidates participating. All candidates who have successfully completed this examination and have completed a minimum of 5 years of limited orthodontic practice may, upon being informed of the above, apply to stand for Phase Ill of the certifying examination (oral examination and case reports). This Phase III examination will be given at the Marriott Hotel in St. Louis, March 4 to 10, 1979. New basic applications are being accepted at this time and should be obtained by writing Dr. Earl E. Shepard, Executive Director, The American Board of Orthodontics, 225 S. Meramec Ave., St. Louis, Missouri 63105. All expedited applications, in order to be considered by the Directors of the American Board of Orthodontics at their annual meeting, March 4 to 10, 1979,must be in the hands of the Executive Director by Jan. 7, 7979. Applications to be considered by the Directors at their next meeting after the above, which is held prior to the AA0 Washington, D. C., meeting must be submitted prior to April 6, 1979. Applications submitted by second-year graduate orthodontic residents will be accepted until the deadline of June 7, 7979. The next written (Phase II) examination will be held on Friday, Oct. 5, 1979, at Philadelphia, St. Louis, and San Mateo. Please note that Phase II and Phase Ill examinations are held but once a year.
