Committee on Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
The Executive Subcommittee of the Committee on Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (the Committee) began their terms of office on January 1, 1994 and are as follows: Dr. Thomas Haizlip, Chair; Dr. Mark Blotcky, Vice-Chair; Dr. Elizabeth Weller, Secretary-Treasurer. Dr. Robert Harmon (Denver, CO) was elected to a 6-year term effective January 1, 1995, to succeed Dr. Kenneth Robson, who completes his 6-year term on the Committee on December 31, 1994. Dr. Harmon will also replace Dr. Robson as the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency Review Committee member, also a 6-year appointment. Dr. Walter Anyan's term was extended to 6 years so that his term will expire December 31, 1996. Members of the Committee are elected to serve one 6-year term each and are not eligible for reelection. The members of the 1994 Committee are Dr. Walter R. Anyan, Jr. (representative from the American Board of Pediatrics, term expires December 31, 1996); Dr. Mark J. Blotcky (term expires December 31, 1997); Dr. Thomas M. Haizlip (term expires December 31, 1995); Dr. Cynthia R. Pfeffer (term expires December 31, 1999); Dr. Kenneth S. Robson (term expires December 31, 1994); Dr. Richard M. Sarles (term expires December 31, 1999); and Dr. Elizabeth B. Weller (term expires December 31, 1998). Examination
At its September 10-12, 1993 examination in RaleighDurham, NC, the Committee examined 359 candidates; 220 (61%) passed, 55 (15%) conditioned, and 84 (24%) failed or failed must reapply. All completed applications for the September 1995/May 1996 examinations must be received in the Board office no later than May 1, 1995. All licensing and training requirements must be met by May 1, 1995. Applications are available from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc., 500 Lake Cook Rd., Suite 335, Deerfield, IL 60015, (708) 945-7900. The 1995 fees for examination are as follows: application fee = $350, written examination or reexamination fee = $325, oral examination fee = $725, oral reexamination fee (condition) = $500, oral reexamination fee (failure) = $725. Applicants are required to submit copies of current license registrations showing expiration date, in addition to documentation of all training, photographs and fees with their applications. Training documents must include the exact dates of training. All licensing and training requirements must be met before application for examination.
