Announcement Recent progress in the area of Lipids and Lipid Metabolism has given rise to an increasing awareness of the significant role played by lipids and lipid-derived metabolic products in biological processes, including transmembrane and intracellular signalling and the communication between cells and tissues. Recognizing these developments, BBA is pleased to announce the introduction of a special subsection of Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, entitled Lipids in Signalling and Recognition. Serving the interests of the many researchers in this field, the subsection will gather together articles concentrating on all biochemical and biophysical aspects of lipids and lipid-derived messenger molecules. These include their structure, physicochemical properties and transport, as well as the regulation and enzymology of their biosynthesis and metabolic inactivation and the recognition processes underlying their biological activities. Researchers are hereby invited to submit relevant manuscripts.
