Metabolic Engineering V: Genome to Product September 19–23, 2004 Squaw Creek Resort and Conference Center Lake Tahoe, California

Since the first conference in 1994, the field of Metabolic Engineering has grown significantly in both industry and academia. It is now well accepted that Metabolic Engineering provides unique insights and tools for analysis, design, and reconstruction of organisms. Metabolic Engineering advocates the importance of systems integration in biology and aims to solve relevant problems such as biomanufacturing of chemicals and therapeutics. Today, success stories of Metabolic Engineering have not only frequented the scientific literature but have also resulted in commercial products and industrial scale processes. This international conference will provide a forum for scientists and engineers in Metabolic Engineering and related areas to share progress, discuss challenges, and debate issues. It will build on the success of previous conference (ME-I to ME-IV), and focus on the theme of systems integration: from genome to product. Highly innovative Metabolic Engineering research presentations and posters from both industry and academia are invited.
