Aristoncavi’s specialized cables for submersibles Aristoncavi SpA, based in Brendola, manufactures electric cables for low and medium voltage applications in energy distribution, signalling and for ‘special applications’. Cables for special applications include cables resistant to fire and high temperature; cables for heavy-duty conditions; and cables resistant to liquids (aggressive and non-aggressive). In the field of the cables resistant to liquids, Aristoncavi has specialized for many years in the production of rubber cables for immersion in water (fresh, salt, waste and drinking), with a particular focus on submersible pumps, in order to become a leading supplier to the most important manufacturers of such equipment.

H07RN8-F This is the only harmonized cable suitable for permanent immersion in fresh water to a maximum 10 m depth and 40 °C temperature. Designed according to standard HD 22.16, with flexible copper conductor, EPR based insulation and a polychloroprene sheath.
Oil resistant H07RN-F This is the Aristoncavi solution for oil-lubricated submersible pumps: both the rubber insulation and sheath can resist chemical attack by the oil. The other characteristics comply with standard HD 22.4.

This is the first and only cable approved by WRAS (the UK Water Regulation Advisory Scheme) according to BS 6920 for permanent immersion in drinking water. The cable is non-toxic and waterproof, up to 600 m depth, thanks to the materials used. The peculiarity and the uniqueness of the product result from the special EPDM compound used for the outer sheath, which allows the cable to pass the microbial growth test, in addition to the other tests provided by the standard (taste and appearance, absence of metals and toxic substances). Due to these particular characteristics, the Drincable won an INTEL Design Award in 2001 in the Technology category, during the Milan international exhibition. The Drincable family consists of both round and flat flexible versions (Figure 1), covering the whole range required by the bore-hole, deep-well pump industry.
