BELT SKIMMER LINE Zebra Skimmers Corp., a full line
manufacturer of oil skimmers and flu id maintenance equipment, has
introduced a new option for its B
series of powerful electric straight and angle grinders, the 1,530-W AllRounder. These two-hand operation machines with type designations USK 3-R, USK 6-R, and USK 15-R (straight grinders) and UWK lO-R (angle grinder) are currently the most compact machines in the 1,530-W class. The weight, not including the cable, is only 2.9 or 2.6 kilos. The market demand for even more powerful electric hand tools with smaller dimensions led to the development of the USK and UWK series. The machines offer 50% more power for the same size compared with previous model s. The new morors are also exceptionally strong at lower motor speeds and remain only handhot, even under high workloads. The newly styled machines, in Suhner's

Series Belt Skimmer line. The new
option was designed for customers who utilize B Series belt skimmers in heated fluid environments, or where their fluid contains harsh chemicals,as both can cause premature motor wear. The outboard motor shaft not only improves motor life but also improves the lifeofa stainless steel belt, as it may also prematurely wear when the inboard motor shaft bearing would otherwise be compromised. Benefitsof the outboard motor shaft include: • Preserves inboard motor shaft bearing and gearbox by reducing load and increasing motor life • Provides dual support of upper pulley, increasing life of stainless steel belts

ergonomic design, lie comfortably in the hand and are easily operated. The new powe rhouses from Suhner are available in three versions. The straight grinder USK 3-R, with a speed of from 1,400 to 3,000 rpm, is suitable for polishing work extending to high-glos s mirror finishes. With a speed of from 2,800 to 5,800 rpm, th e USK 6-R model is especially suited to universal work with abrasive belts, fleece belts, and grinding rollers. The high-speed version USK 15-R, with 6,800 to 14,500 rpm , offers the best solutio n for grinding and milling work and unfolds its full potential with carbide milling cutters. The angle grinder UWK 10-R, with a speed of from 10,000 to 4600 rpm, is suitable for continuous use under the tough conditions in metal construction.
deburrs individual parts at a speed of up to 480 pieces per hour with the use of double spindles that are lowered into a tub filled with finishing abrasive. The abrasive slurry is spun by centrifugal force into a "form-fitting grinding wheel," according to the manufacturer, which assures uniform deburring of all part surfaces. Th e new literature points to the machine's 48-inch-diameter tub that handles pieces up to 16 inch es in diameter and delivers exceptionally close tolerance radiuses . An equipment operator can load and unload large or clusters ofsmall parts on the spindle-mounted chucks, or robots can be employed to achieve 100% automation. Spindle finishing, a concept offered only by ALMCO KleenTec, offers numerous benefits not possible with conventional mechanical finishing equipment, the www.metalfinishing.com
