PRODUCT INFORMATION Improved grade of glass reinforced plastics sheet
VT Plastics has introduced a new improved version of its Glasbord Fire-X glass reinforced plastic sheet which is more abrasion and stain resistant that its predecessor. It is called Glasbord Fire-X Plus and is designed for wall cladding or ceilings in hygienic environments where a high grade fire rated material is needed. For further information, contact: VT Plastics Ltd., Smaithing Grange, Smaithing Lane, Sheffield, $10 3LF, (UK). Tel: +44742-306500. Fax: +44-742-630570.
Custom designed microspheres
A range of microspheres of unusually small size, high strength and chemical purity is now available to meet critical requirements of the electronics, aerospace and medical industries. These can be custom-designed for specific applications. In size, their median diameter can be as low as 5 microns, ten times smaller than conventional microspheres, according to Emerson & Cuming, WR Grace and Co. They can be tempered to withstand up to 660 bar, can be made almost alkali-free, and can be rendered heat resistant to 900°Co Known as Microballoons, these microspheres can be used to impart light-weight and favourable acoustical, thermal and dielectric properties to a wide variety of plastics and elastomerics systems. For further information, contact: Emerson & Cuming, WR Grace, 77Dragon Court, Woburn, MA 01888, (USA). Tel: + 1-617-821-4250.
