The appendix describes the methodological approaches for analysis of specimens obtained at autopsy, surgery or experiments employing gross dissection, histology, electron microscopy, immunohistochemistry and other special investigations. The literature review is impressive (3267 references, 1209 of which are for congenital heart disease) and the iconography very rich (220 figures). The book is excellent and very useful.
