Call for New Editor: Political Ecology or Environmental Governance/Justice Geoforum is looking for a new editor to join Pádraig Carmody (Editor-in-Chief), Sarah Hall, Harvey Neo, Kanchana Ruwanpura and Wendy Shaw in the management of the journal. Geoforum – www.elsevier.com/locate/geoforum - is a leading international journal publishing innovative research and commentary in human geography and related fields, with approximately 700,000 downloads a year. Geoforum publishes research articles that are conceptually-led and empirically-grounded, critical reviews, and editorial interventions. It also features a highly-regarded ‘themed issue’ format that enables a focused exploration of emergent and/or significant areas of inquiry: recent examples include themed issues on Conservation and Security, Understanding Legitimacy: Perspectives from Anomalous Geopolitical Spaces, Spectacle Cities: Worlding Practices and Emerging Narratives of Urban Remaking and From Cluster to Process? New Economic-Geography Perspectives on Processes of Knowledge Generation. The editor will replace Professor Tom Perreault who will complete his term at the end of 2016. Our preference is for someone with thematic expertise in issues of political ecology and/or environmental governance and justice in order to handle submissions in those and related areas. While the editor can be based in any part of the world, a research focus on the Latin American region would be an advantage. Expressions of interest, including a CV and a short cover letter, should be sent to Geoforum’s journal manager, Ms. Banupriya Ganeshan, at
[email protected] by Monday October 3rd, 2016. A small annual stipend and conference allowance for journal related travel are attached to the position.
