KSB ITUR opens pump testing plant in Spain
Caprari adds production capacity in China
KSB ITUR’s new €1.5 million state-of-the-art automated pump testing plant at its headquarters in Zarautz (Gipuzkoa), Spain has nine test beds and can accommodate up to 75 pumps per day.
Caprari SpA has opened Caprari Pumps Shanghai Co Ltd to directly supply the Chinese market with Caprari products and after-sales service.
Designed by KSB engineers from Germany, Brazil and Spain, the testing plant operates the same process management modules and programmes as KSB’s manufacturing plants in Frankenthal and Halle, Germany. KSB ITUR director general Danilo Camilo said that the new facility
is one of the most comprehensive and advanced in the world and allows KSB ITUR to streamline pump assembly and undertake comprehensive testing procedures in accordance with many international standards and customer specifications. “KSB ITUR is addressing new markets and all of these have high levels of demand and highly specific requirements,” said Camilo. www.ksb.com www.ksb-itur.es
ITT acquires Brazil’s Canberra Pumps ITT Corp has bought Canberra Pumps do Brasil. With a manufacturing facility in Salto, Sao Paulo State, Canberra Pumps employs 90 people and had 2009 revenues of approximately US$10 million. Canberra Pumps has an installed base of 20,000 pumps operating in chemical, pulp and paper, and general industrial applications. “Canberra, with its large installed base and strong reputation in the industrial process market, is a great
complement to our existing footprint in Brazil, and will bolster our US$3.4 billion global fluid technology portfolio,” said Gretchen McClain, president of ITT Fluid and Motion Control. “Our acquisition of Canberra will support ITT’s expansion in Brazil’s oil, gas and mining industries that demand dependable heavy-duty pumps and valves,” said Bob Pagano, president of ITT’s Industrial Process business. www.itt.com www.canberra.com.br
Pentair increases test capacity at Kansas facility Pentair has doubled the large pump testing capacity of its Kansas City manufacturing plant, following a US$2.3 million investment. Construction has recently been completed on the Test Floor Expansion Project, which will provide additional deep water testing capability for large

Caprari Pumps Shanghai, located just south of Shanghai-Pudong international airport, is a new 3,500 m3 factory which will initially manufacture wastewater products for the local Chinese and Asian markets. Longer term, Caprari Pumps Shanghai will manufacture components for
Caprari products to be sold in global markets. The new Caprari factory houses production lines, quality control, testing and logistics management. IDEX buys Italian diaphragm pump maker IDEX Corp has acquired OBL Srl, an Italian manufacturer of mechanical and hydraulic diaphragm pumps. Headquartered in Milan and with annual revenues of approximately €8.5 million, OBL provides pumps, polymer blending systems and related accessories for a range of global industries, including water, waste water, oil and gas, petrochemical and power generation. “With OBL’s strong presence in Europe and Asia, and tremendous capabilities in high pressure
pumping, blending and dosing systems, this acquisition creates for us a unique opportunity to expand the effectiveness of a number of core FMT technologies across a variety of attractive end market segments,” said IDEX chairman and CEO Larry Kingsley.
