Sabo utilizes CSPO derivatives as raw materials by practicing advanced processes As part of Sabo's commitment to the sustainability initiatives of its customers, a key goal is to source raw materials so as to minimize harm to the environment and to society. Oleochemicals derived from natural sources such as palm oil represent one important class of raw materials. These are used in the production of a number of Sabo products, including

personal care ingredients, plastic additives and industrial products. In recognition of the importance of sustainably sourced palm oil derivatives as raw materials, Sabo joined other supply chain stakeholders as a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) in Dec 2014. As an RSPO member, SABO subscribes to a code of conduct to support, promote and work towards the production, procurement and use of sustainable palm oil. In the coming months, SABO will be developing a process to implement the use of certified sustainable palm oil (CSPO) derivatives as raw materials in selected products. The next step will be to obtain a RSPO Supply Chain Certification Scheme (SCCS), which is to be based on the results of a third party audit. The SCCS is expected later in 2015. In addition to this new initiative, Sabo has already implemented an integrated management system according to the standards ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 in order to align business objectives with efforts to drive improvements in safety and environmental performance. Sabo is also certified for the production of special products according to the EFfCI GMP Standard for Cosmetic Ingredients 2005 and the FAMI-QS Code of Practices for Feed Additive and Premixture Operators (Version 5, Apr 2009).
