Evanite Fiber Corporation of Corvallis, Oregon has been purchased by EFC Acquisition Corporation, which is owned by Evanite management and Hollingsworth & Vose. Hollingsworth and Vose is one of Evanite's largest customers for glass fibre. Evanite Fiber is the world's second largest producer of glass microfibre and one of the largest independent producers of

Elga to suppy purification plant to Pall Elga have been awarded a contract worth £186 000 to supply additional water purification to the IIfracombe Division of Pall Europe. Comprising two organic scavengers, two Duo 5 Plus Rapide twin-bed deionisers, two polishing mixed bed deionisers and associated tanks and pumps, the EIga system forms part

of an on-going programme of expansion at the Ifracombe facility. The new system will provide 15 m3/hr of ultrapure deionised water used in the manufacture of high performance cartridge filters for the process industries. The contract includes installation and commissioning of the water purifi-

Larox has received a substantial order from Outokumpu Zinc, Kokkola zinc plant in Finland. Larox will deliver 5 automatic pressure filters to Kokkola plant's expansion project which will increase the annual capacity of the plant to 225 000 tons. The Larox filters will be installed in two s e p a r a t e p r o c e s s stages. The total value of

the orders is close to 20 million rIM. The contract also includes options worth 7 million rIM. The innovative direct leaching process of zinc concentrate developed by Outokumpu Zinc Oy Kokkola plant and Outokumpu Research Center in Pori features zinc recovery directly from concentrate without roasting it to the oxide form.

In this process, Larox Pressure Filters deliver effective removal of soluble zinc from solid residue which significantly improves process economy.
