Pigments plant comes stream at BASF A new facility for the production of yellow quinophthalone pigments has come on stream at BASF's Ludwigshafen complex. The project has taken a year to complete. The unit has an annual capacity of 1,000 tonnes and consists of two closed production lines connected in series. An older production line of lower capacity was shut down at the same time. Kemira Pigments Specialty, Products Unit will double the capacity of special titanium dioxide products at its Pori site.

Dyneon to acquire DuPont's PTFE compounding business Dyneon LLC has reached an agreement to buy DuPont's filled PTFE compounds business, located in Kerkrade in the Netherlands. The operation supplies markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The acquisition will provide Dyneon with manufacturing facilities and current technology to manufacture filled compounds at Kerkrade. It is anticipated that all DuPont employees currently employed in the business will transfer to Dyneon.
