Unix on DG Eclipse Unix is to run on Data General Eclipse MViFamily computers. UNX/VS is, says Data General, compatible with Bell Labs System III Unix, in form, content, interface and documentation. UNXVS will run alongside the proprietary operating system AOSIVS, using some of its features. Commands and utilities in a Unix environment can be invoked from the software
‘shell’ or from the AOS/VS command line interpreter, for example. Users have access to communications software, and functions under both operating systems, including office automation. Ada is also available for development purposes. (Data General Corporatron, 4400 Compmer Drive, Westboro, MA 01580, USA. Tel: (6171 366 8911.
