Corrigendum
Corrigendum to ‘‘How general across inventories is a general factor of personality?’’ [J. Res. Pers. 46 (2012) 258–263] John C. Loehlin ⇑ Psychology Department, University of Texas, 1 University Station A8000, Austin, TX 78712-0187, USA
The self-ratings on the Big Five Inventory were misidentified in the course of merging files, and as a result, Table 6 and Table 7 in Section 3.4, p. 261, are incorrect. In Table 6 the ‘‘self-rating’’ principal factor loadings should be .72, .26, .10, .32, and .34, respectively, down the column, with an N of 686 (the ‘‘others’ ratings’’ loadings are correct). A corrected Table 7 is given below: Numerical values in the text beneath the tables should be modified to read as follows: ‘‘Factor scores for the two correlated .39, based on an N of 642. . .’’; ‘‘. . . the correlations of corresponding scales are in the range .62 to .68. . .’’; ‘‘The correlations of the GFP self- and others’-rating factor scores from the BFI with the GFP from the lower-level inventory scales were .65 and .30 respectively (Ns of 472 and 456), and with the GFP from the NEO were .68 and .34 (Ns of 624 and 599).’’ The final sentence of the section should read: ‘‘These correlations are all highly statistically significant, but are markedly lower than those between GFPs based on higherand lower-level scales of the eight inventories.’’

The reference to this table in a succeeding article, Loehlin, J. C., & Horn, J.M., ‘‘How general is the ’general factor of personality’: Evidence from the Texas Adoption Project’’ [J. Res. Pers. 46 (2012) 655–663], should be modified. The numerical range specified in the last sentence of Section 3.3 of that article should be changed to ‘‘62–68.’’
