This publication is part of a series of special books or volumes of papers presented at several international symposia organised by the Interactions of Soil Minerals with Organic Components and Microorganisms, a working group of the International Union of Soil Sciences, between 1992 and 2001. Volume 28B presents 31 papers from the 3rd symposium held in May 2000, and covers the ecological significance of interactions between clay minerals, organic matter and soil biota.
