World’s biggest steel powder plant proposed French-based gas atomizer Metalvalue SAS and Belgian aerospace specialist ASCO Industries have reportedly joined forces to create a new company, Metalvalue Powder, to make gas atomized steel powder. The companies claim that the powder atomizing plant will be the biggest in the world and will allow France to take a leading position in the sector. The powder will be used for existing processes already on the market as well as for Metalvalue’s MMS-Scanpac process, in which gas atomized spherical powder is agglomerated and sieved before pressing.

The companies claim that the powder atomizing plant will allow France to take a leading position in the sector.

The companies are still researching sites for the powder atomization plant while negotiations are also ongoing with additional investors and banks to complete the financing of this project. Metalvalue has also installed in France a plant to make metallic parts in Etain, France. This plant will double the production capacity of the already existing Swedish plant run by Metalvalue subsidiary Bofors Bruk. Several companies have already secured a license for the new MMS-Scanpac process and will be customers of the Metalvalue Powder steel powder production. Metalvalue SAS; www.metalvalue.fr
