ANNUAL
MEETING
the Year Award: Applications were receive from the following APIC chapters: Greater Detroit, Long Island, VA-Richmond, Grand Canyon, Greater Atlanta, and North Carolina. The recipient of this award sponsored by American Pharmaseal Corporation was APICNorth Carolina, Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Total scores assigned are based on the number of points accumulated in each of the following categories: 1. Original chapter projects 2. Chapter goals achieved 3. Original projects and ideas of chapter members 4. Chapter involvement with the community 5. Summary of monthly meetings with speakers 6. Seminars with speakers 7. Involvement with APIC national organization There were six applicants this year and again, as last year, the chapter applicants were excellent, making the decision on the winner of the award a difficult one because of the high quality of the material presented. However, since the chapter receiving the award is not eligible to reapply more often than every 5 years, perhaps some of the fine applicants this year, if they reapply, could be a winner next year. intonational Student Award: The three applicants for this award sponsored by E. Fougera & Company were Ann Barry of Nova Scotia, Canada; Li Shu-zhen of Shanghai, China; and Jose J. Guttierrez of Caracas, Venezuela. To help accomplish this purpose, I have asked Linda McDonald from Tacoma, Washington, to collect and report ideas presented by APIC members. If you or your chapter have educational ideas, methods, or programs you would like to share, please describe them in a letter and send it to:
