It is an exciting time in public/private partnerships to move from nutrition education to consumer action. This program will highlight how the new GMA/FPA - FMI’s MyPyramid Take A Peak! multi-year, in-store promotion program and the Nutrient Rich Foods Coalition’s Live Well! nutrition education program show consumers how to get more nutrition out of the calories they eat. These programs help to cut through the clutter and bring federal guidance to life with researchbased, consumer-tested, positive approaches for the public health community and consumers. Come and get a global view on the effect of nutrition transition on obesity. You will learn about intervention strategies applied in various countries that are undergoing nutritional transition. Great speakers will navigate you through the process, starting from the rice fields of Asia via the Mediterranean regions of Europe to the jungles of Africa.
