EIGHTH INTERNATIONAL BIODETERIORATION AND BIODEGRADATION SYMPOSIUM The Eighth International Biodeterioration Symposium will be held on 26-31 August 1990 at the University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The Scientific P r o g r a m m e will be in English and will cover current areas ofbiodeterioration and biodegradation. Approximately 20 arranged symposia in four concurrent sessions will be convened by leaders in their fields who will be responsible for inviting outstanding speakers appropriate to their sessions, and will include new research as well as state-of-the-art reviews. In addition, contributed papers and posters are now invited. These will not conflict with symposia and will be scheduled concurrent and adjacent to the exhibit area. At the discretion of symposia convenors, topical contributed papers may be included in their symposia. Commercial exhibitors are invited to request details of the commercial exhibition from the address given below. A c c o m m o d a t i o n has been reserved at the Hilton International and the Compri Hotels as well as in the University Residence Halls at Windsor. Full registration for PABS and BS members is $300; for non-members $325 and for bona fide students $150. These costs will be held until 1st April 1990, at which time they will increase by 10%. It is the intention of the organizing committee to publish in full only selecled presentations from the symposium. This selection will be based on topicality, recency of work described, and willingness of authors to adhere to publication timetables. Ew~ry presentor will be expected to provide an extended abstract of approximately 500 words which will be used to aid in selection of titles for full-length publication. All titles not selected will be included in abstracts in the published proceedings. Authors of these are invited to submit the complete manuscript to International Biodeterioration for consideration in that journal.
