SEVENTH INTERNATIONAL BIODETERIORATION SYMPOSIUM The Seventh International Biodeterioration Symposium was held in Cambridge from 6-11 September 1987. The meeting attracted over 250 delegates from the UK, Argentina, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, New Zealand, Mexico, Norway, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the USA. Sixty Scientific sessions covered topics ranging from metals, plastics, pharmaceuticals, rodents and insects, ecology, biofilms, timber, solid wastes, effluents, paint, textiles, museums, post-harvest decay, concrete and stone, rapid methods, physical control methods, hydrocarbons, biodeterioration mechanisms, paper and packaging, biocides, marine and antifouling to computing. Papers are currently being refereed and edited for publication and it is hoped that the Proceedings of the Symposium will be available within three to four months. Details of the Proceedings will be published at a later date for those wishing to purchase this publication separately. The Symposium was hosted by Emmanuel College and the Organising Committee would like to express their thanks to the Bursar and his staff for the smooth running of events at Emmanuel.
