Endodontic research seminars
NEWS Endodontic Research Seminars
Each year at the AAE Annual Session, the Endodontic Research Seminars feature many fine papers presented by a number of investigators. These papers have become an integral part of our Annual Sessions and deserve to be disseminated more widely to the interested members of our profession. To accomplish this, a format, closely patterned after that of the International Association of Dental Research (IADR), was created to screen and select the Research Seminar papers. Each prospective participant will be sent a form on which to type an abstract of about 250 words. Each abstract should state the objectives of the investigation, the experimental methods used, and the essential results and conclusions. No illustrations should be included. The abstracts will be circulated to the members of the Committee on Research and Scientific Affairs, and those accepted will be published in the April issue of the Journal of Endodontics, thus becoming part of the permanent record of our profession. Published abstracts should enable our members to participate in seminars of their interest. Those interested in presenting papers as part of either the graduate or regular section of the Endodontic Research Seminars can obtain the necessary forms by writing to the chairman of the seminars: Dr. Mahmoud Torabinejad School of Dentistry, Dept. of Endodontics Loma Linda University Loma Linda, CA 92350 To encourage the submission of more abstracts, the Committee on Research and Scientific Affairs has extended the deadline for submission of applications to November 15, 1987. All authors will be notified of the disposition of their papers by January 15, 1988.

The Wave of the Future
45th Annual Session April 20-24, 1988 Anaheim, CA
Table/Poster Clinics AAE members are invited to present either a table or poster clinic on Saturday, April 23, 1988 from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. An ideal table clinic demonstrates a simple, time-saving procedure or interesting scientific phenomenon. It should be shown completely in ten minutes, using models, radiographs, or projected slides. It should not require use of motion pictures, heavy equipment, patient participation, or extensive space. Poster presentations should be "mini-abstracts" of a research project, technique, or any other method. All prepared material must be visible from a distance of several feet, and typed material must be prepared on a bulletin typewriter. A SERIES OF TYPEWRITTEN SHEETS ATTACHED TO THE POSTER BOARD IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE POSTER CLINIC. Poster boards will measure 4 x 8 feet. No more than two clinicians may present one clinic and commercial selling of items is strictly forbidden. Information and applications may be obtained from the AAE Central Office. Completed applications must be returned by November 1, 1987 to the Table Clinic Chairman, Dr. Robert J. Rosenberg, 211 East Chicago Avenue, Suite 1501, Chicago, IL 60611. As space is limited, preference will be given to the earliest postmarked applications.
