Dial has been granted Patent No US 7,417,017 B2 for a liquid laundry detergent composition with a unique builder system that provides enhanced stain removal capacity on bleachable stains. The formulation contains the surfactants linear alkylbenzene sulfonate and alkyl ether sulfate with a weight ratio of around 1:1.5-1.20. The composition also contains alcohol ethoxylate nonionic surfactant, alkali metal silicate, sodium polyacrylate and, optionally, carbonate. The composition is claimed to be remarkably effective at stain removal although it is entirely devoid of enzymes and the wash conditions devoid of any bleach additives.
