On its own Web server, FIZ has also launched an English-language chemical search engine, ChemGuide UK, following its original version for Germany. This lists all British Web sites offering chemistry-related information, and stores the contents of all pages on these servers. A full-text search over thousands of pages on hundreds of servers can be launched with a single query. Searching is sophisticated and retrieved hits are viewed immediately and checked for relevancy without having to leave the search engine. ChemGuides for other countries will be released in the near future. l

CONFERENCES Conference on coupling agents and surface modification technology A conference on coupling agents and surface modification technology will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, on September 22-24. Organized by Intertech, it will be the fifth in a series on polymer additives for adhesion promotion.
