New line of plastic pumps Warren Rupp, Inc has launched an entirely new line of nonmetal Sandpiper II TM pumps. Models are available in sizes from 44 inch to 3 inch, with a maximum flow of 223 gal/min (844 l/min). All pumps in the new line have a rugged, bolted design. V-band clamps are not used. This results in a much stronger construction, and easier maintenance. The new pumps also feature the latest design of lubricantfree, non-stall air valve, which is more energy efficient than ever. ESADS+Plus@,the externally serviceable air distribution system, carries a money-back guarantee. The modular air valve has no close-fitting components and is very tolerant of dirty or wet compressed air. Ideal for pumping aggressive chemicals, the new plastic pumps are offered in PVDF or polypropylene, with Santoprene@’ or Teflon@ diaphragms and ball valves. Spill containment, leak detection and pulse output interface options are available for all models. Air valve, check valve cartridges and manifolds are modular in design and completely in-line serviceable. The new line provides unprecedented interchangeability of parts from model to model. Multistage pump offers reduced life cycle costs Sterling Fluid Systems Limited has extended its range of modular multistage pumps with the introduction of the new Sterling multi pump. The multi range offers horizontal ring-section multistage centrifugal pumps ideal for high-pressure applications. Designed to meet the technical requirements of IS0 5199/EN 25199, the key to the success of the multi range is the adoption of an advanced modular design combined with a reduced number of parts and maximum interchangeability. Optimal selection of the impeller diameter combined with the diffuser geometry ensures the pump can be matched to the most demanding of duty requirements. In addition, the innovative design promotes reduced life cycle costs notably through the enhanced efficiency of the patented balance drum design. Avoiding tight, wear-sensitive clearances, the system incorporates a throttling device in order to control flow through the balancing line. Only one shaft seal maximises reliability whilst simple dismantling and reassembly provides a further maintenance bonus. Other special design features include a first stage impeller that ensures reliable operation with low NPSH conditions and the ability to mount the suction casing axially or radially. New-for-old deal for slurry pumps Svedala Ltd’s Regional Service Centres are introducing a service exchange programme for their heavy duty slurry pumps.

Customers can purchase a fully factory-refurbished Svedala slurry pump at a competitive price, in exchange for their existing worn Svedala Orion or HM pump, in all pump sizes from 50 mm (2 inch) to 200 mm (8 inch). The pumps are rebuilt in-house at the Service Centres by trained maintenance personnel, who bring the units back to within original, as-new manufactured tolerances. Each refurbished pump is backed by a 6-month warranty, and removal of the worn pump and installation of the exchange unit can also be carried out by the Service Centre for a nominal cost. In addition, the scheme will overcome problems of disposing of disused pumping equipment experienced by customers working towards the new environmental standard IS01 4000, since Svedala will effectively be offering a recycling service. Explosion-proof motor for barrel pumping Flux Pumps has introduced a new version of its Type 460 pump motor, with variable speed control. Flux claims its ~460 Ex is currently the only explosion-proof motor for barrel pumps approved to the latest standard ATEX 1OOa (94/9/E(Z). Now, the F460 Ex EL becomes the first motor for barrel pumps which is both explosion proof and has infinitely variable speed control. This brings new precision and controllability to operations in hazardous locations. The Flux range of AC commutator motors, with explosionproof options, can be matched with a variety of the company’s pumps to provide robust, reliable solutions for a wide range of applications. The 460 Series features up-to-the-minute design to reduce running costs. Benefits

These are combined with in-built safety features to minimise process shutdowns due to failure of the vacuum unit. In addition, the SIHIdry ml60 can handle large quantities of liquid and particle carry-over, operates at less than 72 dB(A) noise level and because of its compact size and plug and play electronics, is particularly easy to install.

ends, the pressure rises and creates a gas cushion, separating the sealing faces. This spiral groove technology also minimizes product loss, reduces power consumption, and eliminates the need for costly support systems. Difficult cryogenic pump start-up conditions are combated by the Type 285 seal’s reliable face alignment capabilities. A floating carbon ring and positive drive eliminate torque transmitted to the bellows. An anti-spark sleeve, constructed of a special grade of tin bronze, provides safe operation, meeting liquid oxygen (LOX) safety standards. The compact design fits most popular cryogenic pumps available. The seal operates reliably at temperatures from -320°F (-196°C) to ambient, at pressures up to 100 psig (7 barg), and speeds up to 10 000 i-pm.
