WORLD PUMPS

Product news January 2010

Pulseless liquid flow for microfluidics Dolomite has introduced the Mitos P pump, which can provide a pulseless liquid flow using an incorporated pressure-driven pumping mechanism. The Mitos P pump is suitable for microfluidic systems, where highly

stable flow is required in applications such as droplet formation. The pulseless liquid flow pump from Dolomite operates over a pressure range of 0-10 bar and is suitable for use with systems of high fluidic resistance. The

design of the Mitos P pump features a lockable pressure chamber for safety, which accommodates a range of standard and non-standard fluid vessels. The pump can contain samples from 100 μl to 30 ml

and uses fluid directly from the container. The pump works with laboratory nitrogen or argon supply and either a gas bottle or compressor. www.dolomite-microfluidics.com

Leak detection on screw pumps

Extension to centrifugal line

Allweiler AG now offers its SNS and Allfuel series of vertically installed screw pumps with an optional Allseal leak-detection and leak- collection system.

Rovatti Pompe has extended its line of centrifugal pumps for tanker manufacturers in industrial and agricultural applications.

This follows increasely stringent safety and environmental regulations in the marine sector, where leaks of any kind in the machine spaces of ships are no longer permitted, Allweiler says. Since every mechanical seal in a pump requires a film of lubrication between its gliding

surfaces, small leaks of a few milliliters per hour are necessary. Without this lubricating film, the mechanical seal would quickly fail. The Allseal system utilizes the coupling bracket to capture this leak. The SNS pumps, which are used primarily to move diesel fuel and lubrication oils on ships, can be delivered with an hermetically sealed magnetic coupling, or Allseal can be retrofitted. www.allweiler.com

The new SAI series of hydraulically driven self priming pumps meets flow requirements of up to 85 m3/hour, with heads of up to 40 m. The working speed and pump performance is adjusted by the hydraulic motor oil operating pressure. It has separated pump and motor

shafts which can simplify installation and maintenance. The complete Rovatti production line is now is able to meet flow requirements up to 170 m3/hour with heads of up to 75 m. The main components of the self priming pumps are in cast iron, with the mechanical seal available in different material combinations for heavy duty applications. www.rovatti.it
