Announcements International Association of Fire Safety Science The fifth International Symposium on Fire Safety Science will be held from the 3rd-7th March 1997 at the World Congress Centre in Melbourne, Australia. Call for papers First European Symposium of the International Association for Fire Safety Science The first European Symposium of the IAFSS will be held at the Eidgenossische Technische Hochschule, Zurich, Switzerland, from 21st-23rd August 1995. Papers are invited for presentation at the meeting: they will be accepted on the basis of extended abstracts (500-750 words) which should be submitted by 31st March 1995 to: Professor G. Cox, Fire Research Station, Building Research Station, Garston, Wafford, Herts WD2 7JR, UK. Tel: (+44) 923 894040; Fax: (+44) 923 664010. Research papers covering all areas of fire science are invited, but those relating to reaction to fire testing, smoke movement and forest fires will be particularly welcome.
