Flux unveils new flange for worm-drive pumps
Valve manufacturer Flowrox has launched a new pulsation dampener.
A bearing flange with an integrated impulse generator has been launched by FLUX-GERÄTE for its eccentric worm-drive pumps.
The Expulse is designed to reduce noise while settling pressure peaks and ensuring a continuous fluid flow. Flowrox says the product can cut energy consumption by up to 10%, largely as a result of its absorption of up to 90% of pulsations. It adds the device’s reduction in the hammering of the pipeline and pump can lead to extended operational lifetime for the pump bearing and gearbox, while it prevents the collection of sediment, particles or residue thanks to its built-in self-cleaning operation. “A shutdown due to a threat to pipe integrity can not only be

costly, but hamper the ability to generate revenue for clients who depend on this type of equipment,” said Flowrox president Todd Loudin. “Our company has designed the Flowrox Expulse to help reduce the chance of pipe damage and breakage in a cost-effective manner.” www.flowrox.us
Grundfos extends its medium-sized SP range “We have invested substantially in extending the SP range and in new production facilities in Denmark, showing our commitment to the market for mediumsized submersible groundwater pumps,” says global product manager Jakob Overgaard.
With the new, updated 4” SP range Grundfos can equip any application with a complete SP system to optimise performance and energy efficiency.
Grundfos has launched an extended range of medium-sized SP submersible groundwater pumps. The range has been expanded from two to three sizes and is built in stainless steel, with three different material grades available, covering liquids from drinking water to seawater. www.worldpumps.com
As well as exceeding the demands of the new European Ecodesign Directive, the 4 in SP range meets drinking water regulations worldwide. Grundfos says it offers high efficiency, high resistance to sand and other abrasives, reliable motors and easy maintenance. A complete monitoring and control system is available. “In addition to meeting the new Ecodesign Directive requirements, the potential for energy saving is substantial,” added Mr Overgaard. www.grundfos.com

Data gathered is relayed for evaluation via pulse transmission. The hygiene-conform measurement guarantees a high reproducibility combined with a theoretical accuracy of +/- 1 pulse per measurement. The volume per impulse for pumps with an outside diameter of 21 mm is: 7.5 ml. For pumps

company says means reduced maintenance and a reduction in waste water streams associated with seal flushing. The pump uses heavy duty forged and machined wetted components to ensure durability in demanding process environments while the drive shaft maximizes rigidity to increase reliability and reduce vibration and noise. Designed for clean-in-place or sterilize-in-place operation, the pump is 3A and EHEDG compliant. “This latest product offers an exciting opportunity to address the continuing desire to enhance productivity. Efficiency and safety in food, beverage, dairy and pharmaceutical processes,” said Jeff Sporer, global product sales manager, Pumps and Valves www.spx.com
