ItN Nanovation’s consolidated operating performance in 2012 was E3.4 million, compared with a non-consolidated operating performance of E3.6 million, recorded for the previous financial year. Compared with non-consolidated sales recorded for the previous year, consolidated sales dropped by E0.6 million to E2.2 million. This was mainly caused by delays in contracts that were awarded in water filtration technology sector. The consolidated loss improved by E1.0 million to E6.5 million. For the current financial year the company has set itself the target of achieving consolidated sales in the high single-digit millions. It says it is expecting to break even for the second half of 2013 against a background of an anticipated increase in new orders and sales. According to current estimates, it is not expected to achieve a sustained profit until 2014.

iqTech International Inc, a cleantech company based in Ballerup, Denmark, has launched a silicon carbide (SiC) flat-sheet membrane (FSM) disc for membrane bioreactors (MBRs) and moving bed bioreactors (MBBR) used in wastewater treatment. According to the company, the FSM uses the outside–in filtration principle. This enables either a pressurised mode or a vacuum suction mode of operation to be used, which reduces installation costs. The FSM module is submerged in a tank containing the water that is to be treated, and by applying moderate suction pressure, clean water is produced.
