FUNGI ON GLASS David H Monkman, glass engraver of 5 Lion Street, Hay-on-Wye, via Hereford has produced a series of glasses depicting nine species of fungi but any species could be engraved to order.
SPORE A new society has been formed concerned with wildlife conservation, the Society for the Preservation of Rain-Forest Environments. It started mainly as a student based organisation and held an inaugural meeting on 12 April. The main objective is to promote the conservation of plants and animals by ex-situ propagation under conditions which are as natural as possible - to maintain habitats and relationships - before reintroduction into their original habitats, made safer by protection in the meantime.
