The f i r s t authoritative booklet embodying u p - t o - t h e minute information on the m e t r i c Systeme International (SI) has just been produced by the City and Guilds of London Institute for the Council of Technical Examining Bodies. The booklet shows by worked examples exactly how SI units are used in d a y - t o - d a y calculations a r i s i n g in the many s e c t o r s of the engineering industry. Clear guidance is given in the presentation of the units and on the selection of the most appropriate units for the problem in hand. The use of ' p r e f e r r e d ' and ' n o n - p r e f e r r e d ' units is also explained in detail.
An illustrated b r o c h u r e describing the inspection and ndt activities of B.I.X. throughout the world is now available.
