Gone Green Readers will note the obvious change from the traditional blue/gray colors and standard cover format of the past 32 years. Quite literally, the Journal of Hand Surgery has “gone green.” The color choice was not a conscious attempt to be part of the popular “green” environmental movement, which uses that color to encourage preservation, restoration, and sustainability of the earth’s resources for present and future generations. Rather, the new color and design are part of a larger package of changes that were set forth in last month’s Editorial and are intended to preserve the strength of the ongoing scientific and educational missions of the Journal, to restore the relevancy of the review articles for the reader, and to sustain hand surgeons throughout the world in providing the best of clinical care for our patients. Similar to the “green” movement, these objectives are integral to the Journal’s meeting the educational goals of the present, as well as anticipating the future needs of hand surgery. On reflection, the color choice seems most appropriate. P.R.M.
