Best review 2003 For some years it has been the practice of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Hospital Infection to consider at the end of each year the review articles published by the Journal during the previous 12 months. Members of the Editorial Board score the reviews and reach a consensus as to which was considered ‘best’ overall. The Editorial Board has been decided henceforth to announce the winner of this ‘review of reviews’ each year. The Journal of Hospital Infection is pleased to announce that for 2003 the best review was judged to be ‘The preventable proportion of nosocomial infections: an overview of published reports’ by S. Harbarth, H. Sax and P. Gastmeier. The authors of this review will therefore receive a donation of £100 from the Hospital Infection Society.
