ACTION
INTERNATIONAL
Health Action International (HAI) is a network of organisations, groups and individuals from both developed and underdeveloped countries campaigning for rational drug policies world wide. It includes consumer groups, development agencies, women’s groups and people in the health professions. As part of their international programme, Oxfam’s Public Affairs Unit is mounting a campaign throughout Britain. Twenty-one meetings are being held in centres throughout the U.K. as part of a “Campaign for Rational Health: More Essential Medicines for the Third World”.

SYMPOSIUM
ON SELF-MEDICATION
An international symposium on self-medication will be held in Stockholm, Sweden, on 9-11 November 1983. The symposium is being organised in four Sessions dealing respectively with: Extent, Underlying Factors, Professional Aspects and Organisational and Economic Implications. Each Session will be addressed by a number of international guest speakers. There will also be a panel discussion on “What constitutes an optimal self-medication”.
