INTEGRATED CARE: PRIVATE AND VA MODELS Session 305 Paul D. Kirwin Yale University School of Medicine, West Haven, CT Abstract: Integration of mental health services into a primary care setting is one of the cutting edge efforts of mental health care delivery. VA has mandated this integration across all clinical sites across the country, and has taken the lead nationally in developing models of Integrated Care (Primary Care-Mental Health Integration PC-MHI). Integrated Care has now become a primary focus in the private sector. The APA recently published a white paper “Dissemination of Integrated Care within Adult Primary Care Settings” building on the VA blue print and decades of QI research to recommend implementation strategies for Integrate Care in the private sector.
