In-situ testing of sterile gas filters

The recently commercialised technologies eliminate organic and other volatile contaminants from air emissions. The DynaQcleTM oxidizer utilizes catalytic oxidation coupled with regenerative heat recovery to achieve high levels of contaminant destruction and excellent thermal efficiencies. The VolatexTM wet scrubber removes both gaseous and particulate contaminants with special reagents. The reagents are recycled back to the scrubber once the contaminants are separated and removed. The DynaZymeTMbiofilter utilizes naturally formed microorganisms to eliminate degradable gas contaminants tiom air emissions. High removal efficiencies are achieved, and both capital and operating costs are low. The remaining three con-
trol technologies deal with other forms of air pollution. The Brink@ mist eliminator removes solid and liquid particulate from air emissions. Removal includes particles as small as sub-micron size with removal efficiencies over 99%. The DynaWave@ scrubber is a high liquid to gas contact, low energy scrubber that concurrently removes particulate and gaseous contaminants. This scrubber works well in dirty gas environments and has the ability to scrub with solutions having high levels of suspended solids. ExositeTM technology provides non-point source pollution control capability aimed at controlling odourous volatiles. It provides a fast, easy to operate and convenient method of establishing the integrity of gas sterilisation filter cartridges. The Aerosol challenge lntegrity Test method performed by Valairdata from domnick hunter Process Division enables the user to integrity test both membrane
or depth filter cartridges either off-line or in-situ. A liquid based test can take on average 3 hours to complete compared with 20 seconds for an equivalent sized system using the aerosol challenge test method.
