Interdisciplinary
Conference
Asilomar, CA, 16-21
September 1990
on Electrified Interfaces
Scope of the conference The conference is intended to continue the series on non-traditional approaches to solid/electrolyte interfaces conceived in Cannes (1977) and fully realized in Snowmass (1979) Logan (1982), Telavi (1984) Berlin (1986) and Bologna (1988). The main objective of this series is to bring electrochemists and physicists together to discuss problems of the electrochemical interface on the basis of complementary experimental and conceptual approaches. The main emphasis on this Conference will be on the structure and dynamics of solid/electrolyte interfaces, on interfacial electron transfer reactions, and on the overlapping double layers found in colloidal dispersions. The venue for this conference is the Asilomar Conference Center in Pacific Grove, California, a beautiful site by the Pacific Ocean between Monterey and Carmel. Structure of the conference This conference will consist of invited lectures and contributed papers. Contributions will be accepted in the following areas: 1. Theory of the structure of the electrified interface. 2. Experimental characterization of the interface. 3. Redox and interfacial electron transfer. 4. Colloids. Contributions from surface physicists and colloid chemists working in related fields will be especially welcome. Contributed papers will be presented as posters and discussed each day.
