Remote access controller unveiled at World Ag Expo Yardney Water Management Systems, Inc., launched its new SynergyPlus+ remote access controller at the World Ag Expo, which took place in Tulare, California in February. Specialist in clean water solution for irrigation and industrial applications, Yardney, has partnered with Hortau, a provider of precision irrigation management systems for agriculture, to help bring data from its water filtration systems into the cloud. Yardney's SynergyPlus+ remote access controller will allow users to start and stop filtration systems and backwash events and allow for real-time system status updates. Users will be able to adjust all filtration settings and parameters,
flush cycles, period, duration from wherever they are. Along with giving Yardney customers access to real-time data by mobile or computer, leveraging Hortau's cloud-based platform, users can also receive alerts and alarm notifications by text or email when key events take place. The platform also allows for exporting historical data logging for analysis of water and energy conservation.
The product was launched at the beginning of 2017 and this second generation of the submerged membrane module for filtration applications in water and waste water is being named H2L, short for HYBRID 2nd LEVEL.

bioreactors with data analysis and knowledge management tools. This technology portfolio enables design space characterization, effective translation to the largescale and enhanced process analytics.
The platform allows customers to adopt a Quality by Design (QbD) approach in which they build quality into their biological products by combining the power of high-throughput mini
The ICH Q8 (R2) Guidelines define Quality by Design as a systematic approach to development that begins with predefined objectives and emphasizes product and process understanding and process control. SSB is supporting the mainstream adoption of QbD principles by the biopharmaceutical industry as part of its Connect Upstream campaign that brings together the ambr 250 high throughput or ambr 250 modular systems for defining cell culture design spaces at the laboratory-scale with the MFCS SCADA system for data analysis and knowledge management.

The design concept of H2L is modular built from the so called USBs (Ultrafiltration Single Blocks) which are available in different sizes. Based on this concept, H2L is available in 64 different standard sizes ranging from 20 – 500 m2 membrane surface area. www.wta-vogtland.de

World Biogas Association and ADBA to partner for Expo 2017 The World Biogas Association (WBA) has agreed to partner with the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA) to showcase the global biogas industry at ADBA’s leading AD & Biogas trade show. The UK AD & Biogas and World Biogas Expo 2017 will take place on 5 - 6 July at the NEC in Birmingham in the UK. It will be the show’s seventh consecutive year as a global trade show for the biogas industry. Last year, the show was attended by participants from over 50 countries.
As its name suggests, the H2L combines the advantages of two existing submerged module concepts such as back wash ability and high packing density (hollow fibers), easy pre-treatment and good hydraulic behaviour (flatsheet). In addition, the multi-layer design of the membrane pockets called Safe Guard Technology, ensures a safe rejection of bacteria and solids even if the membrane layer suffers damages. The product is especially suitable for limited tank height and areas.
International supplier for the biopharmaceutical industry, Sartorius Stedim Biotech (SSB), has developed a fully integrated technology platform to meet the requirements of today’s upstream bioprocessing.

The global biogas market is estimated to be worth £1trillion and energy security, climate change and the UN Sustainable Development Goals are driving the need to rapidly increase the uptake of biogas.
Exhibitors throughout the combined event will be showcasing all the products and services required to upgrade biogas to biomethane for use as a low-cost, low-carbon transport fuel, as well as the latest biomethane vehicles and refuelling equipment. www.adbioresources.org/ biogastradeshow
