BOOK REVIEW Leukemia. E. S. Henderson and T. A. Lister (Eds.), W. B. Saunders, Philadelphia, 1990. 821 pp. Forty-two authors from Europe and North America have contributed to this fifth edition of Leukemia. The book has been divided into six parts which cover the nature, etiology, diagnosis, treatment, and complications of leukemia. It includes the new immunology and genetic techniques necessary for proper strategies and programs of management. Individually, most of the chapters are well written, informative, and above all, comprehensive. This is a
useful book for clinicians helping them understand the laboratory approach to diagnosis. In general, this book should find use as a significant reference to guide and facilitate the care of patients with leukemia. A comprehensive index further simplifies use of this quite ambitious and effective work. Gunter Deppe, M.D.
