APhA recognition of student members "For outstanding service" read the APHA certificates of recognition given to 59 pharmacy seniors from colleges in 36 states. The students, recommended for the awards by their faculty advisors, were honored for their efforts and accomplishments in behalf of their APHA student chapters. Most of the awards were presented at college senior awards banquets. This APHA recognition of students' con tributions to their profession is considered important in guiding pharmacy students toward continuing professional attitudes and actions after graduation. Lunsford Richardson awards An incentive for professionalism and support for education were giv~n recently by Richardson-Merrell Inc. as it distributed its annual Lunsford Richardson pharmacy awards. The certificates, symbolic mortars and pestles and cash, totaling $12,525, were given to 19 pharmacy student winners, their colleges and their student APHA chapters. Colleges with double winners included Temple University with first prize and honorable mention in the graduate divi392
sion, Southwestern State College with first prize and honorable mention in the undergraduate division and Purdue University with honorable mention in both areas. Others honored in the graduate division are at Florida, Maryland, Minnesota, California and Washington State Universities; completing the undergraduate listing were students at Ohio State, Cincinnati, Auburn, South Carolina and Illinois Universities. Students at the State University of New York and Nebraska and North Carolina Universities
