17-mile Charitv Run March The run took place On when the majoritv of us were still in bed Or browsing over the Sunday newspaper. Five physiotherapy students from the Middlesex Hospital ventured out into the rain with the intent of running around the perimeter of Bloomsbury Health Authority. The calculated distance was 17 miles, just a little further than the average Sunday morning jog! I am

pleased to report that all runners completed the miles. Furthermore, the charity to benefit was the Spinal Injuries Association for which €300was raised. Congratulations to all the runners, Shown here left to right: Chris Boynes, Pippa Cooke, Sarah Toomey, Chris Lee, Dave Bradley Written by Carol Adams, photo by Helen C,onyers

Merger of the Society of Remedial Gymnastics and Recreational Therapy Ltd with The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy - Four years-on The transitional period agreed as part of the merger arrangements ends September 1989. In the period since the merger took place, Miss Agnes Jennings, former chairman of Council, Society of Remedial Gymnastics and Recreational Therapy, and Mr Barry Barton, former honorary secretary, have been the elected voice of former remedial gymnasts on the Council of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. They have obtained the approval of Council t o undertake a formal examination of the effects of the merger on former remedial gymnasts. One part of this inquiry involves the completion, by former remedial gymnasts, of the questionnaire given below. A paper reporting the results from this questionnaire and other inquiries will be presented t o Council at the end of Miss Jennings' and Mr Barton's terms of office in September 1989. In order that the contents of this paper accurately reflect events since the merger in 1985, all former remedial gymnasts are asked to support this initiative by completing and returning the questionnaire. You do not have to give your name.
