Ovivo secures C$10mn MBR contract

Meurer Research relocates to larger facility

Canada’s Ovivo Inc is to supply a membrane bioreactor (MBR) system to the municipal market in North America under a contract worth more than C$10 million.

Meurer Research Inc (MRI) has moved to a larger manufacturing plant in Coors Technology Center, Golden, Colorado, USA.

“This new contract further demonstrates Ovivo’s leadership position in the MBR space in North America, a market that has experienced steady growth over the last decade,” said Marc Barbeau,

president and CEO of Ovivo. “Driven by increasingly strict legislation governing wastewater disposal, as well as the challenges faced by water-stressed regions, the MBR market has a strong growth potential and we are well positioned to capitalize on it.” The equipment is scheduled for delivery in 2016. www.ovivowater.com

Envirogen, Suez Environnement partner on power industry Envirogen Technologies Inc has entered into a collaborative alliance with Suez Environnement to deliver water and wastewater treatment solutions to the power industry in North America. The two companies will work together to pursue and undertake major environmental projects for electrical power generation facilities. The alliance brings together Suez Environnement’s capabilities in physical/chemical treatment technologies and Envirogen’s expertise in biological treatment, but can be extended to include

both companies’ full technology portfolios.

With the move, MRI has added high precision laser cutting and fabrication equipment and increased its production capacity. The expansion is the result of strong and growing demand for the company’s proprietary water and wastewater treatment equipment. “Innovation has always been foremost in the engineering and manufacturing of our products. With the recent advancements in

metal fabrication, we are taking the next leap forward by adding this new, high precision production technology to our manufacturing process,” said Lonnie Meurer, president of MRI. MRI has also introduced a new blazing red, boldly lettered company logo. “The logo signifies this advancement in our manufacturing and our commitment to continued innovation in our products and processes,” said Meurer. www.meurerresearch.com

Near term project targets for the alliance include groundwater and landfill leachate treatment related to coal combustion residuals, and flue-gas desulfurization wastewater treatment. Envirogen president and CEO Richard Reese said the breadth and depth of Suez Environnement’s technology as well as its strong presence in the power industry make the company an ideal collaborator.

Meurer Research’s larger manufacturing facility in Golden, Colorado increases the company’s production capacity.
